The Position

Reporting into the Maintenance Manager this role will be responsible for a variety of maintenance and repairs tasks across our multiple sites.

Our sites include The Royal Toby Hotel which consists of 53 bedrooms and a restaurant. In addition to this we have the Rhyddings Suite, which we hold weddings and events in and Cenetta Ristorante, which offers authentic, Italian modern dining.

We also own Armisteads Cocktail Bar, in Chesterfield which you will be required to attend from time to time.

And finally, you will support the maintenance at Head Office which supports our Butchery and Wholesale divisions.

Preventative planned Maintenance tasks will be part of this position, but in some instances, you will be responsible for liaising with contractors and external parties to complete this work within given budgets and time frames.

Some of your duties will include:

  • Conducting routine inspections of premises and equipment
  • Identifying and addressing maintenance and repair needs
  • Performing basic carpentry, plumbing and electrical works
  • Installing and repairing fixtures, appliances, and equipment
  • Painting walls, ceilings, and other surfaces
  • Handling general maintenance tasks
  • Responding to maintenance requests in a timely manner
  • Keeping accurate records of repairs and maintenance activities
  • Being available for out of hours call outs on a rota basis.
  • Grounds Maintenance from time to time
  • Maintaining health and safety standards across the business.

What We’re Looking For

You will have experience in a similar maintenance role, preferably within property, ranging from internal works to external. Experience of working within a multi-site organisation would be advantageous, especially within the hospitality industry.

Ideally you will come to use with a recognised qualification in electrical, joinery or plumbing. You will have a full driver’s licence.

You will have good knowledge of hand tools and how to use these correctly and in a safe manner. The ability to work independently, manage your own workload and deadlines, which may extend to supporting external contractors.

You will also have the flexibility to respond to out of hours call outs when on the call out rota.
